The decision to publish an article is based on Editorial and Peer Review assessment. Initially, all articles are assessed by the Editorial Team. The main objective is to decide whether to send the article for peer review and to provide a quick decision on whether the article should be rejected or accepted. The rejection is based on novelty or relevance to the scope of Dunia Keperawatan.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Dunia Keperawatan aims to provide a fast publication process through an initial assessment conducted by the Editorial Team. The main objective is to decide whether to send the paper for peer review or reject it. The main assessment points are space coverage, compliance with guidelines, plagiarism tests and language. Articles can be returned to the author with a request to be viewed. This aims to assist the editor in deciding whether to submit the article to continue to the review stage. The initial editorial assessment decision at this stage of the review process is estimated to be made 1-2 weeks after submission.

Review Process

After going through the initial editorial assessment stage, the article will be sent to peer reviewers. The peer review process involves at least two reviewers for each manuscript who are selected based on their expertise. All review processes are conducted with double-masked review, meaning authors and peer reviewers do not know each other's identities. Reviewers must complete the review within 2-4 weeks in each review round after the review request is sent. If the reviewer has not completed the manuscript review by the specified time, the Editor will replace the reviewer. If the replacement reviewer is also unwilling or does not complete the manuscript review by the specified time, the Editor will review the manuscript.

Decision-Making Process

The decision to accept a manuscript is based on peer reviewer recommendations, with two acceptance recommendations required. If there are differences in recommendations between reviewers, the Editor has the right to request a third reviewer's consideration. The final decision to publish is made by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Team, taking into account the suggestions from the reviewers.
