Effectiveness of Mirror Therapy on the Motor Ability of Post Stroke Patients: Systematic Review

Abstract
Insiden stroke meningkat dan lebih dari 50 % pasien stroke menderita cacat ekstremitas atas dan 87%
kerusakan motorik pada ekstremitas atas terjadi stase akut. Sekitar 30-60% dari pasien stroke tidak pernah
mendapatkan kembali fungsi motorik tangan yang terkena stroke dan dapat menyebabkan pasien post-stroke
kesulitan dalam kegiatan hidup sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mereview secara sistematis
penelitian tentang efektifitas Mirror Therapy sebagai intervensi rehabilitasi motorik dalam meningkatkan
kemampuan motorik pasien post stroke. Sebuah strategi pencarian diterapkan ke dalam database Proquest
dan Science Direct. Hasil pencarian kemudian diseleksi dengan menggunakan kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi.
Hanya penelitian yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang dipilih. Dari 1 55 artikel yang ditemukan,
sebanyak 30 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Penelitian terbanyak yang direview menggunakan desain
experimental sebanyak 9 artikel. Dari 9 penelitian yang ditelaah membuktikan bahwa Mirror Therapy dapat
meningkatkan fungsi motorik terutama extremitas atas. Dalam meningkatkan penelitian selanjutnya,
diperlukan penentuan intensitas latihan yang optimal dan durasi perbaikan untuk bertahan dan generalisasi ke
domain fungsional lainnya. Selain itu juga perlu memperhatikan jumlah dan homogenitas subjek (usia, jenis
kelamin, tingkat disabilitas serta onset waktu stroke) sehingga tidak membuat bias pada hasil penelitian.
